The objective of the DigiPivot program is to provide opportunities for women professionals to pivot their careers towards digital marketing and open up a world of new career opportunities for them.
DigiPivot 2021, encompasses of a curated 22-week virtual reskilling and community building engagement that aims to empower the participants with intermediate digital marketing skills designed and delivered by The Centre for Executive Education at Indian School of Business along with Google, and Intentional Career Pathing designed and delivered by Avtar to help further career intentionality as well as mentorship that is an integral part of the program.
Subject Matter Experts and Senior Leaders from Google will mentor the cohort, guiding them through experiential segments including case challenges. Avtar will facilitate sessions on career intentionality, the tenets of which are critical to charting sustainable careers. In the recent report by the World Economic Forum, India is now ranked 112th in the Gender Gap 2020. As per the 2021 “Upskilling for Shared Prosperity” report by the World Economic Forum, India has the potential for as much as $570 billion additional GDP by 2030, which is equivalent to 6.8% of total GDP and will be able to add 2.3 million more jobs, by investing in reskilling.
According to a recent study conducted by Avtar, the annual attrition rate for women in India is 18% and close to half of Indian women professionals quit work before they turn 30. The employable talent pool of second career women (women on career breaks) in urban India is estimated to be as wide as 7 million. According to the first-ever study (2017) on the rights of transgenders by the National Human Rights Commission, about 92 percent of transgenders are deprived of the right to participate in any form of economic activity in India, with even qualified ones refused jobs. With the evolution of big data and the availability of in-depth consumer information, 2020 was expected to generate over 20 lakh digital marketing jobs and the number of opportunities created every year in the digital marketing industry is expected to exponentially increase, going forward in India.
With the expertise of Google, Avtar and Centre for executive education at Indian School of Business,, this program aims to enable early and mid-career Digital Marketing pivots for women professionals. The DigiPivot journey will begin with an inaugural session in the second week of April, 2021 followed by 22 weeks of online e-learnings, webinars and mentorship offered by Google, culminating with a virtual graduation event. Upon graduation from the program the cohort members will be inducted into the esteemed DigiPivot alumni network.
